About the Gambia

The Gambia is one of Africa's easiest and most rewarding birdwatching destinations. With more than 550 recorded bird species packed into a country just 480 km long, visitors can experience forests, mangroves, wetlands, river systems, beaches and savanna habitats within short travelling distances.

Our Team

The Bird Watchers' Association is led by an elected executive committee and supported by more than 120 licensed bird guides across The Gambia. Together, they promote professional guiding standards, conservation and exceptional birdwatching experiences for visitors from around the world.
